PIVOT Sports Knee Registry

Your UConn Health Orthopedic Knee Care Plan

As an important part of your care plan, UConn Health uses the Prospective Injury Valuation & Outcomes Tracking (PIVOT) Sports Knee Registry to help us monitor your knee health and recovery over time.

PIVOT uses a series of short, custom-built questionnaires based on your unique experience to assess how your knee feels and functions in daily life. You will complete these questionnaires at various times before and after surgery. This repetition allows us to track your knee’s healing progress and determine whether any adjustments are necessary.

How Does PIVOT Work?

The PIVOT Registry enables us to collect information and track your progress following knee surgery. Completing the registry questionnaires:

  • Automatically enrolls you when your surgery is scheduled.
  • Collects baseline information about your knee injury.
  • Sets up follow-up questionnaires at intervals for up to 10 years.
  • Helps providers track your recovery progress over time. Information in the PIVOT Registry will also be combined with other patients’ outcomes that may benefit future patients and their providers.

Why Do the Questionnaires Matter?

Tell your story: We want to understand how your knee injury occurred and how it affects your daily life.

Track your recovery: Using the same forms over time helps us measure your progress and guide your care.

Personalize your treatment: Your answers help us tailor your recovery plan to your goals, whether that’s returning to sports, work, or daily activities.

Keep you safe: Sharing accurate information helps us provide the best care possible.
