Launching new initiatives focused on patient experience, infection prevention, care coordination, reducing re-admissions, and continuously improving the quality and safety of the care we provide.
$30+ Million Invested
Investing in Waterbury’s healthcare future with new technology, diagnostic imaging, and surgical and medical equipment, as well as Emergency Department, patient care, and facility improvements.
New Team Members
Welcoming 244 new employees, including 51 experienced RNs, 26 new graduate nurses, and new physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
More Care, Closer to Home
Finalizing plans to expand Emergency Department capacity, strengthen maternal-fetal medicine and neonatal services, expand access to behavioral health, and continue recruiting physicians and providers in specialties our community needs.
5-Star Care at Home Rating
Maintaining a 5-star patient satisfaction rating for the Health at Home agency throughout the transition and earning SHPBest recognition, placing the agency in the top 20% of agencies for patient experience performance.
15,000+ Neighbors Reached
Getting back into the community with 109 community events, screenings, educational programs, classes, and outreach activities, reaching more than 15,000 people throughout Greater Waterbury.
The challenge for the next six months is to convert this stronger foundation into the outcomes that ultimately matter most: greater access, better patient outcomes, an exceptional patient experience, sustainable growth, and long-term financial stability.
