DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®

DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Awards recognize nurses and APRNs who go above and beyond to help their patients. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the autoimmune disease, and this award recognizes the family's appreciation for his nurses. This award is recognized nationally beyond UConn Health, and nurses can be nominated by patients, peers, doctors, or anyone who would like to thank a nurse for the care and kindness they provide.
