Stroke

Research & Clinical Trials

To complement our Stroke Center, UConn Health has an extensive research program working to provide the latest in stroke care and prevention. We are the only research hospital in the area where the medical staff and scientists collaborate to find new and better ways to care for our patients before, during, and after a stroke or mini-stroke.

The two types of medical research that we at UConn Health take part in consist of:

  • Basic science which seeks to understand the fundamental molecular basis of diseases
  • Clinical research which has moved from the lab into patient care

By using the most advanced treatment options we offer, patients can be assured that they will get the best care at UConn Health’s Stroke Center.
