Telepsychiatry Services Available

Nearly half of our outpatient visits are virtual. We recognize the need for remote and reliable psychiatric care and provide telepsychiatry appointments in many of our UConn Health outpatient clinics.
Features and benefits of telepsychiatry services include:

  • Telepsychiatry allows patients to meet with a psychiatrist from any private location with an internet connection.
  • The psychiatrist and the patient communicate using videoconferencing (Zoom), which you can access through a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
  • The referral process is the same for both in-person and telepsychiatry visits.

Mindfulness Meditation Benefits

There is a growing body of research evidence that mindfulness meditation can assist patients in multiple areas. The evidence indicates that practicing simple breathing and attentional instructions as provided in these 5-, 10- and 20-minute downloadable meditations can help patients:

  • Better manage anxiety
  • Reduce depression symptoms
  • Enhance immune functioning
  • Help with pain management
  • Assist with sleep disorders
  • Provide a good stress management tool
