Dr Allison Schafer has successfully injected my right shoulder on several occasions. I understand her time in Farmington is limited as her hours are split between there and Storrs. She has helped me manage right shoulder arthritic pain of long duration( it limited my work since2008. I have had scheduled appointments with two aprn's in the ortho dept who did not do pocus ultrasound and joint injections, and so could not address my needs at those visits and were basically social visits. I did not realize when those visits were scheduled months ahead they were filling space to further book me out for Dr Schafer. At this visit, Dr Schafer's first comments were that I could not come In as frequently to see her as her office hours would be further limited.I explained that I was In no position to schedule definitive surg on my shoulder since my husband just had a lumbar fusion and I must be able to drive. I explained If I could not get the care I needed In this practice, I might need to go to a different physician and practice. ( although I have been very satisfied with Dr Schafer's technical skills). I was not offered the opportunity to see her In Storrs.
