I called the dept 3 times to inquire about an appt they were trying to schedule for me with a vascular surgeon. My discharge papers noted I needed to schedule the appt but there was nothing that I was verbally told at discharge that would warrant any type of surgery. I was never called back and I had to wait for my follow-up appt to get confirmation that no surgery was ever warranted. Very unnerving to think you may have to have some type of surgery, when you didn't, and to wait that long to find out. I am sure the doctor was not aware of this situation until I told her about it. When she saw my discharge paper, she couldn't explain why that was even on the discharge paper.
