For me, the jury is out on the scheduler. I have had more than a dozen surgeries in the past 30 years, and in each case, I walked out of the doctor's office with a surgery date and a list of presurgical clearances that I needed to obtain. I recognize that the scheduler was out of the office the day my doctor saw me, but here it is three days after my office visit, and I am still in limbo. I did speak with the scheduler yesterday, and she told me she had been out, so I understand that. The scheduler told me she schedules all of my presurgical testing, which concerns me since she does not know when I might be available. She said rather curtly that she would get back in touch with me. This will be my first surgery in the UCONN system, and I have been thinking of transferring all of my medical specialties to UCONN. I hope this works out for me without a lot of needless bureaucracy. If there has been a failure along the way, I will certainly accept that I may be partly at fault. :)
