It was my understanding that UConn had a Taste & Smell Clinic and that Dr. Lafreniere was a taste disorder specialist at the clinic. I had to wait almost 3 months to get an appointment with him and had high hopes he was going to have some new information or treatment for a condition I've been dealing with for almost 15 months. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. He didn't have any insights or treatments different from a previous ENT doctor I saw and when I asked about tests that I thought a taste disorder specialist would have the ability to order, he said he didn't and recommended a clinic in Pennsylvania and said "Good Luck".

Of particular note: the directions to the doctor's office within the medical center were excellent, very detailed, which was important since it is a large complex.
