UConn Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine strives to enhance mobility and overall health through comprehensive patient care and ongoing research and education. Their scientists and researchers collaborate to find the fastest, most effective treatments and cultivate the body’s ability to heal. Orthopedic surgeons specialize in sports medicine, joint replacement, comprehensive spine care, orthopedic oncology, neurologic injuries, hand, foot, and ankle conditions, and more.

UConn Institute for Sports Medicine

The UConn Institute for Sports Medicine (ISM) collaborates with UConn Health, the UConn Department of Kinesiology, and the Women’s Center for Motion and Performance at UConn Health. The ISM includes researchers, clinicians, and physicians committed to athletes’ health, performance, and longevity. Their experts are dedicated to supporting athletes at every skill level and age, from recreational to high school and collegiate sports to professional teams. The ISM offers customized education, prevention, and on-site support for individuals, teams, and those who support them, such as parents, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic directors. With our game-changing research, athletes of all ages and skill levels can benefit from comprehensive care at ISM.

Musculoskeletal Institute

The team of physicians, faculty, and researchers at the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute (MSI) is leading the way in musculoskeletal care. They offer clinical services in orthopedics and sports medicine, osteoporosis, rheumatology, and comprehensive spine care. The scientists and clinicians at MSI pursue science and clinical research programs in areas such as bone repair, cartilage metabolism, soft tissue repair, stem cell therapies, tissue engineering, and more. Their goal is to develop new therapeutic regimes and treatment modalities that will improve the quality of life of patients and evaluate the effective therapies used to treat patients.
