UConn Health in the Community
The Community Outreach and Engagement Office brings together cancer prevention and early detection experts from UConn Health to help improve healthcare access and reduce disparities in cancer education. Through health screenings, presentations, events, and partnerships with community and healthcare organizations across Connecticut, we’re reaching our most vulnerable populations.
Through our community navigation program, we:
- Provide culturally tailored education
- Address barriers to screening (transportation, insurance, language)
- Encourage follow-up care
- Close gaps between underserved groups and health systems
